When they were first released as promotional items, the Botanical Battlegear weapons had mixed reviews. Most players disliked them because with the varying restrictions on skills, the 30% bonus support that the Growth Serum equipped Botanical Battlegear offered wasn't very effective. Often giving only a 2 or 3 point boost in damage.
However, at this stage in Omega, this particular weapon and it's core is proving to be quite effective in achieving some really high Auxiliary and Support based skill damage. Check it!
The overpowered support based attacks aside, can you imagine if you gave that +87 strength boost to a partner using a strength build? Feel free to give it a try!

Aside from the original 3 methods listed in the free varium tutorial, there are many additional methods you can use. In this tutorial, I'll show you 3 new ways to get free varium without doing a lot of tedious offers.
#1 Earn Money Uploading Files With ShareCash (read below)
This is an easy way to get varium, but it will take some time. When you upload a file at ShareCash, you will earn actual money when someone downloads that file. In order to download your file for free, the person needs to fill out a short survey. Upon completion of this survey, you will earn up to $2.40 for that one download. I use this dollar figure because that's the most I've personally earned for a single download. When you earn $10 in a month, you will be paid via PayPal between the 15th and the 25th of the next month. Here's my earnings.
Tip: If you use the HideMyIP software it's possible to download your own files multiple times to increase your earnings. I haven't tested this, but in theory it should work. Feel free to test this theory and let me know if it works for you.
#2 Earn Points With Lockerz And Get A $300 PayPal Credit (read below) Lockerz is a unique social networking platform that allows you to earn points for uploading pictures, watching videos, and interacting with friends. You can then redeem those points for cool prizes like an Xbox 360 or a $300 PayPal credit. I recommend getting the PayPal credit and using that money to get varium. The only catch to this method is that you must wait until Lockerz have the prizes in stock before you can redeem your points for them. That means there's no telling when you will be able to get the money. Here's a look at my earnings (bottom-right) so far.
Note: The fastest way to earn points is to watch videos. I recommend going for the videos that credit the most (250 PTZ). You can watch each video at least 3 times and still earn points.
#3 Get Paid To Like Facebook Pages With RylcoLikes (read below) RylcoLikes is perhaps the easiest of these methods to do. You simply register an account, link it to your Facebook page, and start liking pages. Despite being easy to do, it's more difficult to earn money because each "Like" only pays you $0.01. Fortunately, the payout minimum is now $5.00 and you can earn more with referrals. TIP: RylcoLikes works on a first-come-first-served basis. After a page gets the required likes, it's removed from the list. To make sure you don't miss out of easy money, I recommend logging in at least once daily to like newly added pages. Watch how easy it is.
Out of all three methods, number 1 is the best option. Although it may involve doing a survey to download, it pays well and there is no limitation to the amount you can earn. Remember, the money you earn is yours! You can do whatever you want with it. This includes buying varium. If you have a question about this tutorial, please post it in a comment below.
The fastest method to get free varium is completing offers at the BattleOn website. I made a tutorial video some time ago, but did not get into detail about the key aspects of this method. Since the release of the tutorial, many viewers have had a lot of questions that I feel should be addressed. Here are the most frequently asked questions.
Which offer program is the best?
This answer is subject to change as offer programs change their policy from time to time. For example, Peanut Labs used to reward 450 bonus points for every 5 offers completed in 24 hours. This made it my favorite program at the time. Recently, they've removed the bonus reward feature without any prior notice that I'm aware of. Some offer programs are even removed entirely like OfferPal. Despite this, the current favorite is Super Rewards(SR). They typically have good offers that credits on time. If an offer didn't credit me on time, I simply reported it and the SR staff credits my account within 2 days during business days.
How do I find the right offers? You know...the ones that credit me!
Finding the correct offers is a little tricky if you don't know what to look for. The most important thing to do is read the fine print or else! Here's a list of good attributes to look for. Keep in mind that all offers you attempt must be in the "free offers" category!
Submit your email - Offers that only require the submission of an email. (easy)
Register and confirm your email - Credit after clicking confirmation url. (easy)
Install app on Facebook - Create a fake Facebook profile for these. (easy)
View the result page (quiz, etc) - Prepare to take a screen shot of these. (easy)
Go to the final page - Many of these offers will need to be reported. (medium)
Complete a survey - Takes some time, but if done correctly it will credit. (hard)
Here is a list of other types of offers you might come across. I DO NOT recommend these due to privacy and security concerns, but knowledge is to be free for all so here they are.
Auto/Life Insurance - Not recommended, but can be done. See below.
Loans - NEVER EVER DO THESE OFFERS!!! Read the fine print if you don't believe me.
Credit Reports - Your Social Security # will be required. (NOT recommended)
Credit Cards - Also requires your SSN. Never do this unless you want DEBT!
Downloads - VIRUS, MALWARE, SPYWARE, POP-UPS!!!
How do I complete insurance offers and get credited?
As I mentioned above, insurance offers are among the types of offers I don't recommend. However, they can reward a large amount of points if done correctly. Please note that insurance companies are serious about finding new people to rip off customers and they want real people to apply. Because of this, many have implemented numerous security features to protect their businesses from uninterested applicants us. When you do insurance offers, try to remember the layout of each website's registration form as well as the name of the website. Most of these websites use the same database/registration program. That means you cannot use the same info twice even if the second time is with a different website. You'll notice the patterns after a while. The trick to getting around their security checks is to use different, but real, information to register each time. That includes name, address, email, vehicle information, and phone numbers. The only information that should be your real info is the phone number. One of the security feature in most insurance offers is an identity verification. This is done by asking you to call a 1-800 number from the phone number you entered during registration to get a 4 or 5 digit PIN. Using a fake phone number will not work on these offers.
I've completed an offer, what do I do now?
After completing offers, keep the window/tab open until it credits you. If the estimated time passes and you are not credited, take a screen shot (press "prt sc" on keyboard, then click "paste" in any image editor software) of any page that could show proof of completion. Depending on the offer, this could be the result page, final page, confirmation email message, or the page shown after confirming an email. After saving the screen shot of your proof, close the window/tab of the offer and report it.
An offer didn't credit me. How do I report it?
The process of reporting offers differ from one program to another. Read the text below the offer program buttons for instructions on how to report offers in the currently opened program. Here's an example. In this example, using Super Rewards, after clicking the "Get Help" button you will click the "Help" button on the right of the offer you wish to report. On the next page, click "Continue to the offer inquiry page". After that, fill out the form with all the necessary information. If you've taken a screen shot of your proof, upload it to a file hosting website like twitpic and include the direct url of the image in the message box. Submit your inquiry and wait for a response via email. In some offer programs, you will need to reply to the email sent to you and provide your proof that way. Other programs allow you to upload your screen shot directly to them instead of using a file hosting site. After reporting a few uncredited offers, you will know what to do. Note: I've been told that PeanutLabs don't credit reported offers. I'm not sure if this is true, but I'll let you know in case you're wondering why they haven't credited you for offers you've reported.

Collect all Gamma items, they go RARE!
If you missed out on Beta items, like me, then you know how it feels to be wishing you had certain items. This is your chance to get all the Gamma gear before they are gone forever!
Gamma Bike - Buy it at bike selling NPCs or get it free with 10k varium package.
All these are labeled as RARE items. Collecting rare items will also increase your rarity score. When your score reaches 25,000 you will earn the Treasure Hunter achievement.
Add strong players to your buddy list!
In Delta, the long awaited 2vs1 NPC battle mode will be released. You and a player in your buddy list can team up against powerful NPCs. That means you're going to want a lot of strong friends. *coughs :)
Accumulate 10,000 or more BattleOn points
Let's face it, promotional items are always the best at the time. There's no telling what powerful new promo weapons, robots, and/or other items will be released. To make sure you're ready for this, you want to get as much BattleOn points as possible before Delta. Save your points until you reach 10k, then get the 10k varium package. If you cannot afford to buy BattleOn points, learn how to get free varium.
Save enough varium(3,000) to switch classes twice
With 3 new classes being released, there will be a frenzy among higher levels players to test them out. Each hoping to gain an advantage in battle. This is the perfect opportunity to play wisely. Instead of rushing into any class, wait a while and see how other players use them. If you are defeated consistently by one of the new classes, consider switching to that class. This will save you a lot of time, varium, and possibly credits. If things don't work out the way you thought it would, then you'll have another 1.5k varium to switch back to your original class or to another.
Battle a lot, especially during Power Hour, and save Credits
Since you never know what awesome new weapons will be released in Delta, you want to accumulate a lot of credits. You can use them to buy new weapons, or enhance your new promo weapons.

This build grants me the ability to get up to 20 wins for every 1 loss. In fact, it's such a good build, I only know of one weakness...a high strength build mercenary with luck on his side. Of course, this ultimate build requires the purchase of varium weapons and armor as well as enhancements. If you don't have varium, read this post to see how to get free varium. After many failed attempts, I finally beat George Lowe. Unfortunately, my mercenary account just couldn't do the job so I had to change classes to bounty hunter. With new frost weapons, high dexterity and max shadow arts, I was able to take down the space age goliath with ease. Watch the video below to see how it was done. In Epic Duel these days, getting a lot of wins isn't as easy as it used to be. Especially if you're a high level player and have to face opponents who wield the Frostbane. It helps to be a varium user, but without the right build for every occasion, you will likely lose a lot. That's where my ultimate build comes in. You can use it to defeat almost all players of any class no matter their levels. Of course, this build is for level 32 varium mercenaries, but it can also be used by level 30 and 31 varium mercenaries. Check out the build below, and watch the video to see it in action. I've spent over 400 tokens in so many failed attempts to defeat Big Tuna (NPC), but with a new build, battle strategy, and some luck, I was able to take her down. For details on how I did it, read my forum post. Here's a little teaser for ya.
You may have heard of the new NPC Slayer that was introduced a few weeks ago. Well, now you can battle him. If you thought Titan was strong, wait until you fight Slayer. He truly deserves the name. To save you 20 battle tokens, I'll let you in on a little secret. "Slayer only uses physical attacks." That means you have a better chance of beating him with a high dexterity build. Below is a screenshot of the build I used to defeat Slayer. My primary weapon was enhanced with +4 dexterity. NOTE: During battle, I dealt two critical damage with the sidearm (32 damage each) which really helped out.
I also used this build to defeat Nightwraith. The proof is in the screenshot below. I beat Nightwraith immediately after deafeating Slayer.
Since the introduction of Epic Duel's Omega phase, all weapons of the same type are equal in potential stats. For example, all clubs have the same max stats, so does all swords, all staff, all blades, etc. So there is no longer any "best" weapons in terms of stats. The only thing that sets individual items apart - aside from their artwork - is their skill cores.
Some items come equipped with unique skill cores that give the user a slight advantage in battle. It's these unique cores that makes some items great and others not so great. Unfortunately, these kind of items only come with the 10k varium package so they're not exactly "varium free." You can still learn how to get free varium from my many tutorials.
For the weapons that are free - only cost Credits - there's no difference in strength because all can be equipped with purchasable skill cores that everyone has access to at VendBots. So the correct title for this post is Best EpicDuel Primary Weapon Cores - Varium Free.
Frost Shards - Reduces target's energy by 5 each turn. (lasts 3 turns)
Meteor/Plasma Shower - Unblockable attacks dealing 110% or Strike damage.
Primary Mastery - Adds 4% Critical Strike chance on normal Strike.
As Omega progresses, more skill cores are expected to be released. I'll try to keep this post up to date when possible.

Some of the coolest aspects of Epic Duel are the weapon upgrades. There are tons of powerful weapons to choose from. Although some of the good ones require varium, there are still a lot of awesome varium free weapons. In just a moment, I will reveal these weapons for each class of the game. So, if you want to make your avatar more powerful, you should read this.
Mjolnir - Mercenary
This weapon can be obtained after reaching level 23. It requires 30 technology and 33 support. But that's not what sets it apart from the rest. Although it's damage is only 20 (energy) and it has only 4 slots for weapon enhancement, it's stat modifiers are through the roof. This weapon boasts an impressive +5 dexterity, +10 technology, and +10 support. A must have for any mercenary between levels 23 and 30. I've even seen a few level 32's with the Mjolnir. You can buy it from Mirv for only 2,210 credits.
Caden's Wrath - Tech Mage
This weapon can be obtained after reaching level 28. It requires 37 strength and 31 dexterity. Again this weapon is made unique by it's stat modifiers. It boasts a staggering +24 technology. Enough to raise your resistence 6 to 8 points. Plus, it has an energy damage of 22 and 5 slots for weapon enhancement. This is the weapon of chose for Tech Mages above level 28. You can buy it from Caden for only 8,000 credits.
Omega Blades 2 - Bounty Hunter
This weapon can be obtained after reaching level 22. It requires 28 strength and 34 technology. Like the weapons above, this one is on the list because of it's stat modifiers. It provides it's wielder with +8 dexterity and +8 technology. Out of all the varium free weapons for Bounty Hunters, this has the best combination of mods. There is another weapon with +13 dexterity, but no technology so it didn't make the "cut". ^_^ Omega Blades 2 also does 22 energy damage and has 4 slots for enhancement. You can buy it from Talia for only 2,300 credits. It is recommended for bounty hunters between levels 22 and 28. After that, you may want to upgrade to something more powerful.
Your 6th clue can be found in the 4th word of this blog post title. It is also the first letter of my PrizeRebel level.
These weapons are all great for the sole purpose of making your avatar more powerful with stat mods. If you're looking for sheer power, enough to knock your opponent off their feet, then you will need to get weapons with varium. If you don't have any varium, or can't afford to buy it, don't worry. Read this post on how to get free varium.

Unless you're a pro player like me, you will probably want to bash your head against the wall after being demolished repeatedly by level 40s. No? Ok, that's good to know. Still, Epic Duel can be extremely difficult to conquer when you're battling more experienced players who also use varium. To make your experience a bit easier, I will show you how to get free varium for Epic Duel.
The traditional way of getting varium is to purchase one of the packages on the BattleOn website. This is by far the easiest way, but let's face it...not everyone has extra money laying around like that. So, without further delay, here are four ways to get free varium.

Tips to earn more points and money with Prize Rebel:
Earn more points with referrals. When your referrals are credited for offers, you get a percentage of their earnings. This percentage, as well as other benefits, increases each time your Account Level progresses.
Earn money (sent to your PayPal) by completing as many offers as possible each month to earn a top spot in the Offer Contests. First place will receive a $60 prize. Cash Crate is one of my favorite sites for making money because it's simple, fast, and legit! Like Prize Rebel, Cash Crate allows you to complete free offers and take surveys. Unlike Prize Rebel, Cash Crates pays you directly with money in the form of a check, but also allows you to earn points to redeem prizes. I won't get into the points too much as they are not necessary for this method. It's the money that's important.
To start, you earn $2.00 for becoming a member. $1 for signing up and $1 for confirming your email. You can quickly earn $18 more by completing free offers or free trial products. Once you reach $20, you will receive your check in the mail the next month. Of course, it's your money and you can use it however you want, but you can also use it to buy a Varium package. Register a Cash Crate account today.
Out of the two methods above, I highly recommend Prize Rebel for two reasons. (1)It's easier to level up to earn more from referrals. (2)You can instantly claim the Game Cards after earning the required points. No need to wait for a check in the mail. On the other hand, Cash Crate is a lot easier to use and you can earn money by simply logging in daily.
#4 Get BattleOn Points at BattleOn.com - Complete Offers (read below)
Below, I've made a video that shows how to get battleon points by completing free offers at battleon.com. You must first log into your battleon master account. Follow along with the video and learn how to get free varium. Be sure to check the "videos" section of each offer program. Some let you watch commercials daily and earn points. No sign up is needed for these points, just play the video and earn BattleOn points when it's done.
If you need a little motivation, take a look at the image below. From 4/30/2011 to 5/4/2011, I was able to get 11,070 BattleOn Points using ONLY free offers. With patience, determination, and a keen eye for good offers, you can do the same or better.

Winning battles in Epic Duel can be easy and it can be hard. This all depends on many factors. From your current level, battle stats, and skill tree combination, to the battle type, opponent stats, strategy, and luck. Even the timing of starting a new battle could mean the difference between fighting a level 20 noob or a level 30 pro.
The average player, a non-varium user, will win only 2 of 3 battles with other players in his league. The statistics are even worse when facing a higher level player, about 1 in 5 wins. To save your time, energy, and boost your wins, I recommend using the method below.
This tip is very easy to do and best of all, it's 100% legal. So you don't have to worry about getting your account banned. It's a method that I recommend for beginners to skyrocket their wins, credits, experience, and battle tokens. When you're comfortable with your battle skills, you can combine this technique with traditional battles for more winnings and earnings.
Ok, enough talk. How do I perform this feat?
To perform this, you will need to fight the computer characters in the game. Knowing which to fight is very important. Below is a list of characters that you can challenge depending on your current level.

For best results, I suggest you only challenge the characters that are either the same level as you or lower. You have a better chance of winning. Now that you know who to fight, you need to know when to fight.
Epic Duel only allow you to challenge a computer character 5 times per hour, and only 15 total computer fights per hour. I've found that it's best to start around 40 minutes after the hour (i.e. 10:40am). This will give you 20 minutes to engage in 15 battles with at least 3 different characters. At 11:01am, you can battle those same characters again. That's another 15 battles. If you win them all, that would be 30 wins in about 35-40 minutes.
HINT: Bio Guard(lvl 22) usually heals if his health fall below 20, sometimes 25. Your battle strategy could help you save time by defeating him without giving him a chance to heal. I'll leave it up to you to figure it out.

Battling opponents in Epic Duel can be a lot of fun... until your health is low. So it's wise to keep some health boosters handy when playing. You can buy health boosters from VendBots around the different cities of the game. Each booster costs 34 credits and you must be at least level 9 to get it.
But... did you know that you could save 10 credits for every booster you buy?
That's right, you can buy health boosters for only 24 credits. Currently, only two characters in the game sells them this cheap... Mirv and Kraggor. You can find Mirv chilling out in Barren Outpost and Kraggor in one of the underground lairs of Minetower.
