Epic Duel Omega :: Pre-Release Overview

With the highly anticipated Epic Duel Omega's release just around the corner, the air is filled with excitement for warriors across Delta V. Here's a quick overview of what you can expect after the release, which is currently scheduled for December 14th 20th January.

The beginning of Omega will mean the end of the Delta phase. This means the Delta Knight armor and Delta weapon set will be gone FOREVER!!! If you're an achievement junkie like me, you have every reason to be excited because the Delta Knight achievement will now be worth an untold amount of Rating Points. As well as a possible new achievement for the Omega phase. Although this one will be worth 0 Rating Points until the end of Omega.

Aside from that, there will be some major changes to the functionality of many aspects of the game. For example, you'll be able to challenge NPCs an unlimited number of times daily. However, you will only be rewarded Credits and possibly Dropped Items for victories. Experience points, Battle Tokens, and Influence will no longer be rewarded for victories against NPCs. As a result of this feature change, the Brainwash feature will be removed from the game. So if you spent a lot of varium on it, sorry but there are no refunds. Haha!

Enhancements are getting a major overhaul. Not much is said about it though, other than "the new system will allow for much greater customization than before, and will involve equipping passive effects and active abilities to your weapons."

Also, the staff announced that players who have enhanced items using the current system will be compensated. Further details have not been released as of this posting.

Here's a sneak peek at what the new enhancement system looks like. Also, I should note that every weapon will have the ability to be "upgraded" to the equivalent of a higher level weapon.

What would a new phase be without new items to go with it? In Alpha, we had the now Ultra-Rare Alpha Weapons. In Beta, we had the Beta weapons. In Gamma, we had the Gamma Bot and Bike. In Delta, we had the Delta weapons and Delta Knight armor. Now, when Omega is released, we will have the Omega Obliteror/Onslaughter sets. Both sets include a sword and mutating weapon. All of which comes with 2 new weapons skills (one active, one passive) so it's worth looking into when Omega arrives.
New players get a nice treat as well. Although theirs is mostly graphical, but it's a much better look for the character setup interface as illustrated below. The default armors and styles will get a different look as well.
There is much more that I left out of this post, including the highly speculated return of the Frysteland events, among other things. Head on over to the Omega Marathon Epic Duel Design Notes to learn more.

I hope you're excited about the release of Omega as I am. As a long time veteran player, I'm looking forward to seeing the changes made to the game.

Preparing For Epic Duel Delta Release (6/29/10)

That's right! The Epic Duel Gamma Evolution will soon end! With Delta just around the corner, many players are scrambling to get ready. What should you be doing? Here are a few tips on how to prepare for Epic Duel Delta.

Collect all Gamma items, they go RARE!
If you missed out on Beta items, like me, then you know how it feels to be wishing you had certain items. This is your chance to get all the Gamma gear before they are gone forever!
All these are labeled as RARE items. Collecting rare items will also increase your rarity score. When your score reaches 25,000 you will earn the Treasure Hunter achievement.

Add strong players to your buddy list!
In Delta, the long awaited 2vs1 NPC battle mode will be released. You and a player in your buddy list can team up against powerful NPCs. That means you're going to want a lot of strong friends. *coughs :)

Accumulate 10,000 or more BattleOn points
Let's face it, promotional items are always the best at the time. There's no telling what powerful new promo weapons, robots, and/or other items will be released. To make sure you're ready for this, you want to get as much BattleOn points as possible before Delta. Save your points until you reach 10k, then get the 10k varium package. If you cannot afford to buy BattleOn points, learn how to get free varium.

Save enough varium(3,000) to switch classes twice
With 3 new classes being released, there will be a frenzy among higher levels players to test them out. Each hoping to gain an advantage in battle. This is the perfect opportunity to play wisely. Instead of rushing into any class, wait a while and see how other players use them. If you are defeated consistently by one of the new classes, consider switching to that class. This will save you a lot of time, varium, and possibly credits. If things don't work out the way you thought it would, then you'll have another 1.5k varium to switch back to your original class or to another.

Battle a lot, especially during Power Hour, and save Credits
Since you never know what awesome new weapons will be released in Delta, you want to accumulate a lot of credits. You can use them to buy new weapons, or enhance your new promo weapons.

Here's a look at what to expect in Epic Duel Delta.

That's it! Now start preparing for an Epic release on June 29th. I know I am.

Epic Duel Update: New Weapon Celtic Cleaver

This post is overdue by 2.135 days. Check out my Facebook Page for faster updates. With that said, feast your eyes on the soon-to-be legendary weapon. The Celtic Cleaver!
As the image shows, this weapon gives the wielder a 7% Chance to Connect (hit) when striking an opponent. Effectively reducing a max Shadow Arts to a mere 3% Chance to Block. Visit Zedmyr at the entrance of Bazaar to see the stat mods on this Seasonal Rare weapon. You can buy it for 20,000 Credits and 1,500 Varium, or get it free with a purchase of the 10k Varium Package. Can't afford the varium package? Try these methods to get free varium.

Also, if you have a question or concern about this weapon, share it in this Celtic Cleaver discussion on the Epic Duel forum.

Epic Duel Update: New NPC Zedmyr Level 50?!

OMFG!!! That's what you're gonna say when you see the new NPC Zedmyr. In the recent update, Gamma Evolution 1.1.3e, Nightwraith revealed that Epic Duel will be introducing Quests in the near future. Giving players the ability to collect items from defeated opponents and the environment. In addition, BAZAAR, the place next to Mirv has been opened to the public. Currently, what lies on the other side is none other than Zedmyr, the level 50 NPC. Does this mean that new levels will be opened up beyond 32? I sure hope so.

Epid Duel Update: New NPC, Skills, and Weapons

If you've come seeking the 11th clue, open your eyes to see the change in hue.
Another awesome update for the Epic Duel game features a brand new NPC (George Lowe), 3 new skills, and powerful new weapons. Here's a breakdown of everything new.

NPC: George Lowe - Boss
This guy is a force to be reckoned with. At the moment, he doesn't have a specified level, he's classified as Boss. That alone should tell you how tough he is. With a massive 520 HP, you better bring your A+ game when you challenge him. Located in Fortune City, Lowe offers a powerful inventory of weapons. If you have 1,000 varium to spare, you can hire Lowe to attack the opposing alignment. Earning you a lot of war kills and influence boost to your alignment in the Daily Faction Battle.

3 New Skills
Players have debated as to the helpfulness of these 3 skills, but one thing is for sure, they can come in handy during battle. Mages get the Assimilation skill which allows them to steal a percentage of their opponents energy while doing damage. Mercenaries get the Blood Shield skill which allows them to sacrifice a portion of their health and turn it into an energy shield. This can be used on both the user and his partner in 2vs2. Bounties get the Shadow Arts skill which allows them to passively increase their block rate, stun, and deflection by a certain percent. This is perhaps the best of the three.

What do you think about the new updates? Leave a comment below.

ED Holloween Special - New Auxiliary Weapons

Halloween is almost here and Epic Duel just released some awesome new weapons with the Gamma Version 1.1.1a. Along with a ton of other cool features, you can now get 2 powerful new auxiliary weapons. The Ghoul Cannon (physical) and Spectral Blaster (energy). Click the image on the left to see more details of this latest release.

Just how powerful are these new weapons?

Try not to faint when I tell you that both these weapons have a bone breaking +36 damage. Not only that, but their stat modifiers rival that of weapons built for level 32's. You can equip either of the two after reaching level 28. Watch the video below to see the weapon specs.
